State PI intelligence

A personal injury research file for every state

All 50 states plus DC each get a dossier: the cases the state produces, who already advertises there, its legal climate county by county, and which markets to lead with. Every input is shown, down to 3,145 counties and 210 media markets.

What a state dossier answers

Where to advertise, and what cases to target, before a competitor gets there first.

Which markets should we lead with?

Each state dossier opens with a recommendation, then ranks counties by exposure and maps them to media markets, with every input shown so the ranking can be checked.

  • Counties ranked on crash, injury and competition data
  • Each county mapped to its Nielsen DMA
  • Open any market in Strategy Advisor to plan it

Where do the injuries happen?

An incident map plots the injury sources a plaintiff firm cares about, and county rankings show where serious injuries concentrate.

  • 222,695 fatal crash records
  • 14,690 nursing homes, 24,090 OSHA injury reports and 9,654 pipeline incidents
  • Serious-injury crash records by county where the state publishes them, plus storm events and boating accidents

Who already advertises in this state?

The Competition view shows the firms and lead buyers advertising in the state by practice area, platform by platform.

  • Advertisers grouped to the firm behind each brand
  • Saturation per market, so you can see where competition is thin
  • Recent verdicts, settlements and injury news in the state, as they break

Advertising channels LMI collects

  • Meta ads
  • Google ads
  • YouTube ads
  • Paid search
  • Organic search results
  • New tort landing pages

Each platform is counted in its own unit. LMI shows observed activity, not estimated spend.

What is the legal climate?

The rules that change a case's value sit at the top of every state dossier, and the judicial profile goes down to the county.

  • Comparative or contributory fault rule
  • Statute of limitations and damage caps
  • Judicial profile and verdict climate for each county

Example: the Texas dossier header

  • Modified comparative fault (51% bar)
  • 2-year statute of limitations
  • No non-economic damages cap

Every state dossier carries its own rules, with the county-level judicial profile in the Legal Climate view.
